Transparency is our core feature. Here is how Voice Mirror collects, uses, and secures your data.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: VoiceMirror is not to be used for medical purposes. The insights provided are not professional advice, and you will be implementing them at your own risk. If you do not agree to any of our terms or policies, you must delete the app immediately.

1. Overview

Voice Mirror ("we," "our," or "the App") is designed to provide real-time behavioral coaching. Our core philosophy is On-Device Processing for analysis, combined with secure Cloud Sync for your history and seamless experience across devices.

2. Data We Collect

Audio Data (On-Device Only): We access your microphone to analyze speech prosody (pitch, volume, pace) and generate transcripts. Raw audio is processed locally on your device's Neural Engine and is NOT streamed to our servers for analysis.
Coaching Metrics: De-identified metrics (e.g., "120 words per minute", "3 filler words") are generated locally.
Identity & Authentication: We use Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In. We collect your email address and name to create your secure account.
Technical Logs: We collect standard diagnostic data (device model, iOS version, crash reports) to improve App stability.

3. Data Storage & Sync

Secure Cloud Sync: To ensure you never lose your progress, your session transcripts, metrics, and account settings are encrypted and stored in Google Firebase (Firestore & Cloud Storage).
Why Cloud?: This allows you to reinstall the app or switch devices (e.g., iPhone to iPad) without losing your coaching history.
Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest on Google's secure servers.

4. AI & Processing

Local Inference: Voice Mirror uses on-device AI models for real-time analysis. This prevents latency and respects your privacy.
No Third-Party AI Training: We do not sell your voice data or transcripts to third parties for training their AI models. Your data remains yours.

5. Your Rights

Revoke Permissions: You can revoke Microphone or Speech Recognition access at any time in your iOS Settings. The App will cease to function but your data will remain safe.
Delete Account: You can fully delete your account and all associated data from the "Settings" menu in the App. This performs a hard-delete of your records from our Firebase database immediately.

6. Third-Party Services

Google Firebase: Used for secure backend infrastructure (Auth, Database, Storage). View Firebase Privacy Policy.
Apple/Google Auth: Used for secure sign-in.
